Matthew 22 :14 "For many are called, but few are chosen."
The Lord calls many, and many are they that respond to His Call. However, only few are chosen, because only few will stay on track till the end. Just as in the parable of the sower, many hearts will gladly receive the Word of God, but other things in the lives of these will suffocate the Word of God, killing it pre maturely.
Some will succumb to the pleasures of sin, to worries, and the cares of this world. Others will allow persecutions to have the better of them. Just as in Judges 7, God will downsize His Army. He will eliminate all hypocrites and pretenders. He will eliminate those who claim to know Him, but utterly disobey His commandments.
In Judges 7, God asked those filled with fear to leave; and from those left, He separated those that lapped water, from those that went on their knees to drink. In the end, only those that lapped water were chosen.
On Judgement day, our works will be refined, our hearts and intentions exposed. Everything we have done in secret will lay bare. We must endeavour whiles we have time, to follow God wholeheartedly; unreservedly. If we live a lie, it is to our own detriment, and to the devil's glee, for then, Satan and his kingdom will have the last laugh at us. For it is appointed unto man to die, and after death, Judgement.
Some won't die, as they will be raptured - 1 Thessalonians 4 : 15 -17. But all will be judged. It is prudent to commence your own self -assessment of your heart, intentions and deeds. The marking scheme is God's Holy Word and your conscience. All the very best!
