It is not always that trials and trouble spell being out of God's will. Job went through a very difficult time of trials and great trouble, but he was not out of God's will, he was a servant that pleased God, to the extent that God wanted to show him off to the devil.
Revelations 13:8 reveals that Jesus was slain before the foundation of the Earth, meaning that God chose Jesus to die in man's stead even before the Earth begun. Jesus suffered for us, but it was all in the will of God - Isaiah 53: 4-6 says Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But
he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our
iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his
stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
God sometimes calls us to join in His suffering. The father did not exempt His beloved Son from suffering :
Isaiah 53:10 -11 Yet it pleased the Lord
to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul
an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days,
and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
He
shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his
knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear
their iniquities.
We must bear in mind that Jesus and His Father are one (John 10:30). Therefore when Jesus suffered, it was in actual fact the Father suffering as well. God chose to suffer, because He knew the outcome of His suffering was redemption for His beloved creation.
The Lord has good plans for us, but we must not lose sight of the truth that some of these good things evolve from suffering. It is all part of His good plan - Romans 8:17 And
since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with
Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we
must also share his suffering.
1 Peter 2:21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
