MEET THE HOLY SPIRIT - Part 1

May I introduce to you the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Holy Trinity, which comprises of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit," Matthew 28:19

God the Holy Spirit, who I humbly introduce to you today, is a person with a mind, will, and emotions. He can talk, feel and reason. He is not just a mighty force that operates, but a Person you can have as a Guide and Friend.

Man was created in the image of God - Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them. Genesis 1: 26-27

The Holy Spirit is God
 Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.”

• Take note that God used the word 'us' to address Himself. Genesis 1:26-27 . He is Plural - three in one.
• God created man in His own image or likeness - man resembles God.

•  The Holy Spirit was there at creation when God created the Heavens and the Earth - Genesis 1 :1-2 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

•  The Holy Spirit is Omnipresent, that is He can be everywhere at all times. Only God has this attribute. Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. Psalm 139 :7-10

•  The Holy Spirit is Omnipotent -limitless power or all powerful. Another attribute of God. The Holy Spirit has creative powers . God's Power is at work even today, making impossible situations possible. Job 33:4 The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life. In Psalm 104, we learn that all creation look to God. Verse 30 says When you send your Spirit, they are created and you renew the face of the ground.

And concerning Jesus's conception, - The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Luke 1:35

•  The Holy Spirit is Omniscient - This is an attribute of God. He is all knowing,  there is no end to what He knows. Psalm 44:21 tells us - Would not God search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.

 Hebrews 4:13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

1 Corinthians 2: 10-11  But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 

John16:13  However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come

The Holy Spirit is God and wants to have a relationship with you.  His introduction continues.... stay tuned!
